Kangubiri which originated from an English phrase “Can Go Free” was a detention camp which was converted to a Girls school after independence. Since then the school has grown to be one of the biggest schools in our county having 5 streams.
On Saturday I was the chief guest during their 50th annual prize giving. The last year’s class attained a C+ of 7.1133points while this year’s class targets a B of 8.5points and they actually have a slang “Campo ni Lazima”. I can only wish them all the best!
In attendance was also the area MP Hon Ndung’u Githenji with whom we were able to award the best students both in performance and other disciplines. We also stocked the Library Corner with books worth 40k in addition to other prizes and awards.
We pledged with the area MP to pursue infrastructure funds from the Ministry of Education for a modern science laboratory. Hon Githenji pledged CDF Kshs. 1Million to complete and equip the library and ICT centre.
Kangubiri is indeed a Centre of Excellence!
